Why I’m Running
I’m running because the people of Champaign County deserve complete confidence in their County Clerk's Office.
Accuracy, professionalism, transparency, and accountability are not political goals—they are the basic responsibilities of good government.
My goal is simple: restore confidence by running the office efficiently and getting it right the first time.
At a time when Champaign County is facing budget deficits, it is even more important that the Clerk’s office gets things right the first time. Mistakes and delays don’t just create frustration—they cost time, productivity, and taxpayer dollars.
My focus is simple: get it right the first time.
Why Improvement Is Needed
- Ballot issues, including misspelling a candidate’s name.
- Property tax errors, including the use of incorrect tax rates that forced Rantoul to issue refunds to residents.
- Delays and errors in distributing funds to local entities such as drainage and road districts.
- Administrative issues involving duplicate vote-by-mail ballot mailings.
- Instances where voters cast ballots, both in person and by mail, but the Clerk's website did not show that they had voted, creating confusion and concern.
The County Clerk's office must operate accurately, efficiently, and with accountability. Champaign County residents deserve a Clerk's Office that gets it right the first time.

Alan Anderson is Urbana-raised, University of Illinois educated, and brings more than 30 years of technology and business experience to the race for County Clerk.
A graduate of Urbana High School and the University of Illinois with a degree in Finance and post-graduate work in Computer Science, Alan solved complex challenges as a coder, then founded several businesses, demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership and problem-solving skills.
Alan actively supports the Illini as a dedicated fan and long-time season ticket holder for football, basketball, and volleyball.
